Spain is the last European Union nation to bestow online casino licenses. At a time when the United States is seeking to put the lid on their online gambling industry, a number of European Union nations are loosening their restricted markets and Spain is the last to do the same.

Spain bestowed its original online casino license on May 17 to Casino Gran Madrid, the biggest land-based casino operator in the country. The casino will commense to present online casino games and an online poker application to the citizens of the Autonomous Region of Madrid.

In February, Spanish lawmakers approved an original online gambling decree. This regulation will be enforced towards the end of the summer and the Casino Gran Madrid online site will become accessible to players then.

The Casino Gran Madrid site will be powered by the online casino software developer, Playtech. The casino and the software organization reached an agreement in March 2009 to construct an online casino site pending the modification of the country’s online gambling laws at the time.

The casino site is being created and will bring in a number of the newest games from Playtech. Beta testing will begin in the upcoming weeks and there will be more than 200 million computer-generated plays done on the software in the route of certification. These replications are intended to test whether the casino will be able to carry the number of players that is expected and to investigate for any technical difficulties or security concerns.

The casino site will be planned with precautions to stop underage gambling and it will also impede any individuals who are prohibited from the brick-and-mortar casinos that are included in the company. Jorge Casanova, Director of Information Systems for Casino Gran Madrid remarked that the online casino indicates the intensity of loyalty that the corporation has to expansion in the gaming industry.
